Senior Web Developer / Hybrid in Irvine / React / PHP / Marketing — contract-to-hire opportunity. Based in Irvine, CA (hybrid schedule). Our client is a fast-moving digital organization focused on building and maintaining high-traffic web platforms that support marketing, lead generation, and business operations. This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior level developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building custom WordPress solutions from the ground up. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things WordPress, working closely with engineering and marketing teams to ensure the web ecosystem is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. This is a high-impact role with room to innovate and shape the technical direction of the company’s web presence.

Contract Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire.

Qualifications

• Required Skills & Experience
• 3–5 years of professional experience in WordPress development
• Proven experience managing and scaling high-traffic WordPress websites
• Expert-level proficiency in PHP and WordPress architecture (hooks, APIs, etc.)
• Strong understanding of MySQL and database optimization
• Solid front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Desired Skills & Experience
• Experience with Tailwind CSS and modern CSS frameworks
• Familiarity with Docker and WP Env development environments
• Experience with WP Engine for environment management
• React.js experience for building custom Gutenberg blocks
• Hands-on experience with Full Site Editing (FSE) and custom themes
• Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro) expertise
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
