The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online tutors with thousands of students nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

Compensation, Schedule and Tools

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40/hour as you gain recurring sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Our AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and enhance instruction.
• We handle the logistics—you just invoice for sessions and we process payments.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
