As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring and personalized instruction to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests and match sessions to student needs.
• Use the Live Learning Platform to conduct sessions remotely without commuting.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions and manage payments (via Varsity Tutors).

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Perks

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour for the same student over time.
• Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions and invoicing.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

• We handle logistics—you invoice for sessions and we process payments.
