What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Middle School Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education preferred.

Responsibilities / What You’ll Do

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to middle school students.
• Deliver personalized instruction and adapt lessons to student needs.
• Utilize Varsity Tutors tools and resources to support learning.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; payments are processed by Varsity Tutors.
• Leverage AI-powered features, such as Tutor Copilot, to enhance sessions and reduce prep time.

Offerings and Compensation

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour with same-student progression.
• Pay schedule: up to twice per week for completed sessions and invoiced work.
• Flexible scheduling: set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Remote tutoring from home using the Live Learning Platform – no commuting required.
• We handle logistics and payments; you focus on tutoring.
