Description: Alicia. Design Collective offers interior architecture and design services to select commercial clients, specializing in boutique, branded, and various retail interiors. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Registered Interior Designer/Project Manager located in Belmont, NC. The primary responsibilities include leading interior design projects from concept to completion, space planning, creating construction drawings, selecting and managing FF&E, and ensuring all designs align with client goals and regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating with clients, suppliers, and contractors to deliver high-quality interior design projects on time and within budget. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys the intimacy of a boutique studio, values work-life balance, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing, design-driven practice. Responsibilities Aid in the technical development of hospitality and commercial interior projects from schematic design through construction administration. Prepare and oversee construction documents, ensuring code compliance (ADA, life safety, building codes) and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering and procurement consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to move projects smoothly through approvals and execution. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with clear communication to clients and the design team. Mentor and support junior designers, providing guidance on technical standards and documentation best practices. Partner with senior designers to translate creative concepts into buildable, compliant solutions. Contribute to the studio culture flexible, collaborative, and rooted in design excellence.
Qualifications
610 years of experience in interior architecture, interior design, or architecture, with a strong focus on hospitality or commercial projects. Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD, along with Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp or other 3D tools a plus. Demonstrated experience in FF&E and finish specifications, vendor coordination, and materials sourcing, a plus but not a requirement. In-depth knowledge of ADA, life safety, and building code compliance in commercial interiors. Experience managing consultant teams and navigating the permitting process. Strong organizational and communication skills; able to balance multiple projects at once. RID, NCIDQ certification or architectural license preferred (but not required).
