Position: Part-time Faculty in Forensic Photography, Crime Scene Investigation, and Fingerprint Analysis
The School of Public Service, in the College of Law and Public Service at National University, invites applications for part-time faculty in Forensic Photography, Crime Scene Investigation, and Fingerprint Analysis. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. This position works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals).
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in criminal justice, forensic science, administration of justice or related field required. Doctoral degree in the criminal justice or forensic science field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with performing crime scene investigation, forensic photography, and fingerprint analysis.
- Minimum of 1 year of higher education teaching adult learners.
- Experience working in law enforcement.
- Experience in developing course content is preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in California to facilitate courses onsite at the Spectrum Campus in San Diego.
