Job Summary

Our client is seeking a RAN Engineer to support upcoming large-scale telecom network initiatives. This role requires strong RAN technology expertise, blended with system engineering and light software development skills.

The engineer will collaborate closely with RAN business counterparts to define requirements, scope work, provide architectural input, and ultimately support the growth and modernization of their RAN spectrum.

You’ll play a critical role in network expansion projects including Nokia migration, Ericsson systems integration, and 5G deployment. Candidates should have a solid telecom networking background, the ability to contribute at the architectural level, and experience bridging between engineering and business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business-side RAN counterparts to identify opportunities, generate business cases, and define growth projections.
  • Scope out new initiatives and translate them into clear requirements and system-level solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and ensure alignment with AT&T’s overall RAN strategy.
  • Support major telecom projects including Ericsson knowledge & integrations and 5G expansion.
  • Provide system engineering leadership while maintaining surface-level software development knowledge (Java preferred).
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with both telecom engineers and software teams.
  • Represent AT&T’s telecom engineering vision with professionalism and strong communication.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in RAN engineering and telecom networking.
  • Strong system engineering background with proven ability to define scope and requirements.
  • RAN-specific expertise: migrations, spectrum, and architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia migrations; Ericsson knowledge highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with 5G technologies and spectrum growth.
  • Some development experience (preferably Java) — not extensive, but enough to support and interface with software teams.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work with a diverse team.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills; able to engage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Background in telecom consulting or industry collaborations (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.).
  • Resilient and adaptable personality to manage shifting priorities.

Base pay range: $50.00/hr - $60.00/hr
