Overview
ADP is hiring a Lead UX Designer. You will be a key design leader on a highly creative and intelligent team building innovative solutions for everyday workers. As our Lead UX Designer for Lyric’s Benefits features, you will shape design direction, coach other designers, and ensure the team builds tools that our customers love. Your work will touch millions of end-users, and your leadership will raise the bar for what great design looks like at ADP.
In this role, you will leverage your full range of user experience design, design systems, and service design expertise to craft and guide innovative solutions for our Benefits team. You’ll balance holistic thinking with hands-on design execution, influence at strategic and tactical levels, and mentor others in building thoughtful, scalable experiences.

About Lyric (the Product You’ll Be Working On): Lyric is our next-generation, AI-powered platform transforming how users engage with their benefits. What You’ll Do: Here’s what you can expect on a typical day.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design Direction: Own the end-to-end UX strategy for Benefits features within Lyric, from discovery through delivery.
- AI-Driven Experience Design: Partner with AI and data teams to design intelligent, adaptive interfaces for benefits decisions.
- Design Planning: Anticipate design needs several sprints ahead, collaborate with product owners, engineering leads, and UX leaders to set priorities and guide backlog grooming.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Coach, critique, and inspire other designers; foster design craft and systems thinking.
- User Research Leadership: Champion user insights; partner with UX Research to define studies, synthesize findings, and translate them into opportunities.
- Facilitate Alignment: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive decisions and advocate for user experience in leadership discussions.
- Operational Excellence: Model lean UX practices and agile design; help shape design systems, guidelines, and processes for consistency and efficiency.
- Hands-on Design: Balance leadership with execution; create high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and reusable patterns.
- Innovation: Guide your team through experimentation and exploring emerging technologies to push ADP’s products forward.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 7+ years of UX design experience (product, interaction, visual, or service design), with at least 2+ years in a lead/managerial capacity.
- Ability to lead design vision and execution across large, complex products or platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Figma and modern design/prototyping tools; working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
- Proven track record of mentoring designers, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving measurable impact through design.
- Comfortable working on next-generation products with innovative tech stacks and complex user ecosystems.
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with benefits platforms, HR tech, or decision-support tools.
- Experience with conversational UI or natural language interfaces.
- Background in behavioral design or decision science.
