Nightwing is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Visual Solutions Architect to join our Proposal Excellence team in our Dulles, Virginia office. In this role, you will bridge the gap between abstract technical concepts and tangible visual representations. You will be responsible for translating complex system architectures and data flows into clear, compelling, and aesthetically pleasing visuals that drive understanding and alignment across the organization.

Responsibilities Include

Visual Storytelling: Translate complex technical solutions, data models, and system integrations into simple, engaging, and easy-to-understand visual narratives for a variety of audiences, from engineers to executive leadership.

  • Graphic and Visual Asset Creation: Design and produce a wide range of visual assets, including detailed architecture diagrams, infographics, process flowcharts, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for presentations and documentation.
  • Technical Design and Strategy: Work alongside technical and business stakeholders to evaluate and define system requirements and constraints. Use your technical and creative expertise to design robust and scalable architectural solutions that align with business goals.
  • Conceptualization and Prototyping: Develop creative concepts and prototypes for new projects and features, ensuring that the visual approach effectively conveys the technical strategy and improves user comprehension.
  • Documentation and Governance: Establish and enforce visual design standards and documentation best practices for all architectural artifacts, ensuring clarity, consistency, and reusability across projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between development teams, product managers, marketing, and leadership, using visual communication to ensure alignment and shared understanding throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a visual solutions architecture or related technical role, with a strong portfolio showcasing visual communication and graphic design skills.
  • 10+ years supporting proposals of varying degrees of complexity with graphic content
  • Demonstrated proficiency in graphic and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Miro) for creating high-quality visual content.
  • Experience with architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture) and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling way.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
  • Must have a minimum secret clearance, or ability to obtain clearance
