Overview: Under general supervision, will independently apply mechanical and piping knowledge base to generate issued for construction design packages. Makes decisions on engineering problems and methods and represents the organization in project meetings to resolve important questions with key engineers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for design, specification, selection, and services relating to, pipe standards, manual valves, and inline piping equipment Modify, Update, and Maintain P&ID's, based on client specifications and vendor data Create, review, and check design packages including scopes of work, P&IDs, general arrangements, line lists, isometrics, pipe supports, and installation details Assist in conducting piping and mechanical reviews of all project packages prior to IFC to ensure that quality procedures are followed Review project design estimates and scopes of work for new and proposed projects Required to perform necessary field work, taking measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, developing detailed scopes. Ensures that completed project scope is safe to operate, functional, maintainable, and that all applicable codes have been followed Must interface with other engineering and design disciplines as well as construction Ensures optimal constructability is incorporated in designs

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment Required proficiency with CAD software platforms, preferably AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk ReCap, Autodesk Navisworks. Required working knowledge of piping standards, pipe materials of construction, pipe components, and manual valves. Required working knowledge of pipe fabrication means and methods. Experience in communicating job packages/projects with construction and plant personal. Experience utilizing vendor equipment specifications and reading vendor manuals. Experience in developing scopes of work, task analysis, material list and project schedules Other Requirements :

Must have U.S.A. citizenship Must have or obtain TWIC Card. www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic Drug and background screening required Must be clean shaven Physical Requirements:

Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs. Employee will need to climb up the stairs up to the 2nd and as high as the 10th floor of the operating buildings up to 1 to 3 times per week. Conducting walk downs and walking to the operating areas will require walking 200 to 1200 yards on some days of the week. Employee will need to bend over and reach over their heads to verify instruments, wiring, connections and control systems in the field. Assignments may require conducting plant walkdowns and wearing chemical plant or refinery PPE to include eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, steel toed shoes, chemical resistant gloves and FP coveralls.
