About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to redesign how clinicians deliver care—so doctors can give patients undivided attention again. You’ll turn complex clinical workflows and cutting-edge AI into intuitive, trustworthy experiences that reduce cognitive load and give time back to care teams. This is a high-ownership IC role shaping product quality, design systems, and craft standards end-to-end.
What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end product design (0→1 and 1→N): Research, frame problems, prototype, validate, and ship polished experiences across web/desktop/mobile.
Simplify the complex: Translate nuanced enterprise workflows and AI capabilities into clear, efficient flows that clinicians love.
Raise the bar on craft: Set and evolve visual, interaction, and motion standards; contribute to (and scale) design systems.
Lead with evidence: Plan and conduct research with clinicians and admins; synthesize insights into actionable direction.
Partner deeply: Collaborate with PM, Eng, Clinical, and GTM to align on problem statements, constraints, and success metrics.
Drive quality through the lifecycle: From rapid prototyping to high-fidelity specs, QA, and post-launch iteration with telemetry and feedback.
Mentor and multiply: Uplevel the team’s craft, critique, and storytelling; model crisp communication and decision-making.
What You’ll Bring (Requirements) 8–12 years of enterprise product design experience at fast-moving, SaaS-focused companies.
Proven 0→1 ownership: Shipped net-new products or major surfaces—not just incremental feature redesigns.
Enterprise depth: Track record designing complex B2B workflows, roles/permissions, data-heavy UIs, and reliability-critical experiences.
Craft mastery: Strong visual, interaction, and motion design; ability to systematize patterns and scale a design system.
Full-stack design toolkit: Research planning, facilitation, prototyping (low→high fidelity), usability testing, and spec delivery.
Exceptional communication: Clear writing, crisp storytelling, and confident stakeholder presentations with rationale and trade-offs.
Portfolio requirement: A clean, well-structured portfolio that highlights end-to-end problem solving, system thinking, and measurable outcomes.
Nice to Have Experience at high-velocity B2B SaaS orgs (e.g., Glean, Asana, Airtable, Stripe, Samsara, Harvey, Decagon, Anthropic, Robinhood, Figma, Discord, Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Spotify).
Prior agency background (e.g., R/GA, Huge) before transitioning to B2B SaaS.
Select B2C experience (e.g., Instacart, Airbnb, Pinterest) paired with strong customer communication and enterprise empathy.
Comfort designing for regulated or safety-critical domains; familiarity with EMR/EHR or clinical workflows is a plus.
How You’ll Work Hybrid cadence: In-person collaboration at least 3 days/week in SF or NYC.
High autonomy, high impact: You’ll partner directly with founders and clinical leaders on problems that haven’t been solved before.
Outcome-oriented: You’ll define quality bars and success metrics tied to clinician time saved, cognitive load reduced, and accuracy/trust.
Location:
New York, NY or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid; min. 3 days/week) Compensation:
$250,000–$270,000 base + competitive equity Sponsorship:
