Mechanical Design EngineerOverview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in drafting, design, and engineering documentation. This expert-level role involves creating and refining mechanical designs for complex components and assemblies, with a strong emphasis on precision, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop initial design concepts and rough sketches based on customer specifications and engineering requirements

Translate engineered sketches into detailed final drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Modify existing designs and implement revisions to meet evolving project needs

Design mechanical enclosures, test fixtures, and intricate electronics packaging solutions

Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and geometric controls to ensure manufacturability and performance

Produce fabrication and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards

Reverse engineer complex mechanical components and assemblies for redesign or documentation

Required Skills

SolidWorks (expert-level proficiency)

Mechanical Design and Drafting

Packaging and Enclosure Design

Weldments and Sheet Metal Design

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Department of Defense (DoD) standards and practices

Additional Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and drafting

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks modeling software

Strong understanding of ASME standards and engineering documentation practices

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
