We Require Must be at least 16 years old
Ability to read and write in English
We Also Value Public contact or library experience
Experience filing alphabetically
Job Contributions Sort, shelve, and file various library materials accurately according to the library classification system
Read shelves for accuracy, re-shelve misplaced items, and shift materials as assigned
Unpack/pack boxes of books and other library materials
Maintain appearance of work and public areas
Locate and retrieve library materials from public and non-public areas for library staff or library users
Check-in library materials using the computerized library system
Answer directional questions and refer customers to appropriate staff members for assistance
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers using the Library District's Great Expectations customer service model
Working Conditions Library environment requiring evening and weekend availability
Ability to cover shifts at nearby libraries
Ability to perform repetitive movements, including shelving, straightening, shifting, and sorting of library materials
Ability to stand and bend for extended periods and lift 20 pounds floor-to-waist; lift 10 pounds waist-to-shoulder, lift 5 pounds shoulder-to-overhead, carry 15 pounds a distance of 50 feet, and push/pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet
