Senior SolidWorks CAD Designer (Contract) Location:

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a
Senior SolidWorks CAD Designer
in
Carrollton, TX . This is a
contract position
offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact product development using advanced CAD and simulation tools.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in
SolidWorks 3D modeling ,
technical drawings , and
product lifecycle management
using
3DExperience (3DX) . You'll play a key role in the design and development process, from concept through release, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Experience with
CFD simulation setup in ANSYS
is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed
3D models
and
technical drawings
using SolidWorks and 3DX
Manage design data using
Product Data Management (PDM)
and
PLM
systems
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize and refine designs
Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards and internal requirements
Maintain detailed documentation of design processes and revisions
Manage and interpret
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Prepare electrical wire diagrams and mechanical drawings as needed
Support
CFD simulations in ANSYS
to validate and optimize product performance
Stay current with SolidWorks, 3DX, and ANSYS updates and features
Required Qualifications:
5+ years
of experience in a similar CAD design role
Expert-level proficiency in
SolidWorks
(modeling, drawings, assemblies)
Strong experience with
PDM
and
PLM
systems; 3DExperience (3DX)
Proficiency in setting up CFD models using
ANSYS
Solid understanding of
engineering principles
and
manufacturing processes
Familiarity with additional CAD platforms (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Skills:
Advanced SolidWorks simulation and rendering capabilities
Knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques
Experience generating
photorealistic renderings
Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Analytical thinking with a detail-oriented mindset
