The Content Associate plays a critical role in supporting the production team across content formats, leveraging AI tools and editorial judgment to execute fast, accurate, and engaging foundational content.
What You'll Do
- AI-Powered Content Creation
- Use pre-trained tools and editorial prompts to rewrite press releases, summarize transcripts, generate first-draft articles, and optimize metadata.
- Production Workflow Support
- Assist in tagging, templating, uploading, and formatting content across CMS, Brightcove, and other production platforms.
- Social and Email Prep
- Draft social media captions, newsletters, and headlines based on content briefs or final content pieces.
- Search & Source
- Proactively monitor news feeds, wire services, journal websites, and relevant congress updates to surface new content opportunities for editorial producers.
- Quality Control
- Review AI outputs for tone, accuracy, SEO readiness, and compliance with brand standards before handing off to editorial leads.
- Print Support
- Perform first-pass edits on clinician-submitted manuscripts, flagging clinical or structural concerns.
- Format and export files for print layout, ensuring consistency with style guidelines.
- Therapeutic Space Awareness
- Actively build baseline knowledge of the therapeutic area by tracking key opinion leaders, monitoring pipeline updates, and reviewing recent congress coverage.
- Proficient in AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, etc.) and digital content systems.
- Strong command of grammar, clarity, and readability, with preferred previous newswriting experience and AMA familiarity.
- Detail-oriented with a drive for operational excellence.
- Able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks with shifting deadlines.
- You're comfortable working across text, video, audio, and social channels.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Contribute to high-impact healthcare communications that improve patient care.
- Gain hands-on experience across multiple editorial and multimedia formats.
- Collaborate with industry leaders and attend key conferences and events.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Internship or coursework experience in writing, editing, or digital media production preferred.
- Familiarity with medical, scientific, or healthcare content is a plus, but not required.
- Strong command of grammar, spelling, and style, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
- Ability to summarize complex information clearly and concisely.
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices (keywords, metadata, readability).
- Comfortable drafting social media copy, headlines, and short-form content.
$60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
