About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic Vice President of Public Relations Strategy to lead our media engagement and rapid response initiatives. This key role involves serving as the organization's primary spokesperson during critical moments, utilizing a wealth of experience in media relations and strategic communications. As the VP, you will oversee all external communications related to policy, advocacy, and research efforts, ensuring the organization’s core values shine through.
Your mission will include building and nurturing a national network of clean energy influencers and allies to strengthen our messaging and counter misinformation. To qualify, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with preference given to those holding advanced degrees or equivalent experience. A minimum of 15 years in media relations, strategic communications, or public affairs is essential, along with a demonstrated ability in crisis communications and rapid response strategies.
This role demands exceptional leadership abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to manage a significant budget. We seek someone committed to excellence, integrity, collaboration, and transparency. In addition, familiarity with Microsoft Office and experience with media monitoring or social listening tools will be advantageous. The position may involve limited travel (less than 10%) and occasionally require non-traditional hours to address the immediate demands of our media engagements.
