The Technical Lead is responsible for intermediate level setup and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of intermediate audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
- Complies with all Company security and safety measures.
- Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
- Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Be a leader, mentor, and coach for other Technicians on Encore’s Delivering World Class Service philosophy.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
- Meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
- Anticipate equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment; utilize floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; and work within Encore systems and applications as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2-3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 2-3+ years of audio-visual experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles.

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- Hotel/convention center environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand and/or dust; generally moderate noise levels.
- High-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components; occasional work at heights via lifts and ladders; irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work may occur at multiple hotel locations or venues and travel may be required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly Pay Range: $26.00 - $27.00.
- Compensation determined based on qualifications, location, travel, experience, and skills; eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives where applicable.
