Marketing & Social Media Team

  1. Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Role Purpose: Oversees and aligns Girls Ment To Be’s messaging across all platforms, ensuring consistency and mission focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate newsletters, press releases, and email campaigns.
  • Develop talking points, flyers, and outreach materials.
  • Work with program staff to promote events and initiatives.
  • Review posts and materials for branding, tone, and alignment with the mission.
  • Track analytics and provide monthly updates to leadership.

Creative Media Volunteer (Content Creator)

Role Purpose: The Creative Media Volunteer will bring our story to life through eye-catching visuals, videos, and branded content. This role focuses on creative production and maintaining consistent branding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Canva graphics, event flyers, and branded templates.
  • Create short-form videos (reels, TikToks, stories) for engagement.
  • Capture and edit photos/videos from events to showcase impact.
  • Support visual branding for campaigns (fundraisers, donor spotlights, etc.).
  • Maintain an organized library of creative assets.

Social Media Coordinator

Role Purpose: Manages GMTB’s social platforms to grow awareness, recruit volunteers, and engage the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post regular updates on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages.
  • Track analytics (likes, shares, reach) to measure impact.
  • Coordinate social media campaigns around events and themes.
  • Collaborate with Creative Media Volunteer for visuals.

Qualifications (applies to all team members)

  • Passion for social media, marketing, and youth mentorship.
  • Strong communication and creative writing skills.
  • Experience in social media management, graphic design, or digital marketing.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Outlook, and scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Later, or Meta Business Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 6–10 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to attend events occasionally for content creation.
  • Additional time may be needed during major campaigns.
