The Role

Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Music Teacher to join our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is dedicated to Prospect Schools’ mission and to supporting the success of students and families. As part of a high-performing instructional team, teachers create positive, equitable classroom environments that engage students in their learning goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement culturally responsive lesson plans that engage students and foster a love for learning
  • Teach to an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage all students
  • Attend regular coaching meetings with your direct manager and participate in professional development
  • Use data-informed methods to modify and differentiate instruction for individual learners
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of content and effective pedagogy with objective-driven instruction and meaningful student engagement
  • Where applicable, serve as an Advisor to students, supporting academic skills and social-emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and utilize multiple co-teaching models

Classroom Environment

  • Model core values and provide opportunities for students to practice them
  • Set a positive classroom tone with high expectations and student voice
  • Institute routines to create a purposeful, supportive learning environment
  • Build a classroom community with culturally sustaining practices to ensure students feel safe, valued, and respected

Parent Partnership

  • Build relationships and provide ongoing progress updates to families
  • Incorporate family and student feedback to improve learning experiences
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with families at convenient times (e.g., Report Card Night)

Adult Culture and Teamwork

  • Be flexible and adapt to school and student needs
  • Demonstrate a Team First mindset and collaborate across teams
  • Commit to giving and receiving feedback for growth
  • Engage in DEI-focused learning opportunities

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a diverse school community
  • Adept at collaborating and building community

Salary

Salary range: $63,960 - $106,995. Salaries are equity-based and depend on skills, education, and experience.
