The College of Wooster seeks applications for a part-time music theory instructor beginning immediately. Primary duties include teaching two sections of aural skills to both music majors and non-majors during the fall term, and one section of aural skills and an upper-division counterpoint course during the spring term.
Aural skills classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30-9:20am and 1-1:50pm during the Fall semester and 1-1:50pm during the Spring. Meeting times for Counterpoint, during the spring semester, are to be determined with the successful applicant. Candidates are welcome to share other areas of expertise.
Qualifications
Master’s degree required, preferably in music theory or composition. Candidate must demonstrate evidence of successful teaching, as well as the ability to be a congenial colleague. Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining students is highly desired.
Start Date: September 15, 2025
