Senior Director, Public Relations - Gap Brand

Gap is looking for a visionary Senior Director, Public Relations to lead the Gap Brand Public Relations team. This leader will drive innovative ideas and build Gap Brand ambassadors across customer audiences, leading PR efforts including cultural partnerships, creative relationships, and overall growth of the brand footprint in culture. Reporting to the CMO Gap Brand, this role is part of a broader network of PR leaders across the Gap Inc. portfolio and requires strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to champion ideas and activations that set new industry standards.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and manage all aspects of PR, including fashion and brand media outreach, customer events related to product and fashion press, and brand sponsorships.
  • Editorial oversight of brand communications to ensure consistency, coordination, and amplification of key messages (internal/external/social/creative); advise Gap’s senior leadership and spokespeople for external speaking opportunities.
  • Play a senior strategic role in shaping and optimizing Gap’s seasonal omni-channel marketing plan as a key PR/external communications leader.
  • Ensure seasonal brand and product ideas are brought to life through PR/influencer activations by partnering with Gap creative/styling/production teams.

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a high-performance PR team with strong thinking, collaboration across functions, and delivering results while maintaining team motivation.
  • 15+ years of marketing/communications experience, with lifestyle/consumer/fashion PR and partnership/sponsorship management experience preferred.
  • Strong experience in developing and executing annual and seasonal PR/external communications/partnership strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business challenges into effective implementation plans to drive results.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to foster internal collaborations, influence across functions, and nurture a network of relationships.
  • Desire to build a brand with a aptitude for original, creative ideas and openness to new approaches.
  • Experience with influencer strategies and programs; ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.

Salary Range: $195,800 - $269,300 USD. Employee pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, skill level, and location. We will meet minimum wage or the pay range minimum as required by city, county and state laws.
