Job Description - User Experience (UX) Designer

The Amentum JETS II contract seeks to fill a temporary User Experience (UX) Designer position in the NASA Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Division. The UX Designer will work with planetary scientists, software developers, data scientists, senior designer, and other aerospace professionals in Houston, TX at NASA Johnson Space Center.
This position is offered hybrid in Houston, TX with in-person onsite required as scheduled. Please note this position is a temporary position for 1 year.
Responsibilities: Work in a small development team environment to develop web interfaces for science data sets from NASA's International Space Station and Artemis missions
Code, build, test, and deploy feature enhancements to core products in the EVA Mission System Software portfolio
Develop science data visualization designs, graphic designs, and applications for exploration science and mission data
Assist in communicating science mission requirements to a range of mission engineering develop projects and organizations
Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and normally possess 3 years of work experience
Current student or recent graduate with Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human Computer interaction, Computer Science or a related field
Experience with industry standard design tools
