Client Overview: Our client, a ready to wear luxury fashion brand, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in NYC 5 days onsite.

Role Overview: The Controller will be responsible for managing the company's financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing financial reports. This role is integral to supporting the company's growth and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee invoicing, collections, and vendor payments to maintain cash flow efficiency.
• Budget Management: Collaborate with the management team to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
• Inventory Accounting: Maintain accurate records of inventory costs and valuation, ensuring proper accounting for seasonal fluctuations.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Payroll: Process payroll and maintain accurate records of employee compensation and benefits.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor and control expenses, reconciling discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Audit Preparation: Assist in internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation and reports.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and tools.

Controller Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the fashion, retail, or e-commerce industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
