UI Front-End Developer

Location:

Ashburn, VA // Onsite 5days a week for first year-then hybrid

Duration:

12-month Contract-to-Hire (multi-year program)

District Partners is exclusively supporting our client, a systems integrator leading a major modernization effort for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This program is focused on rebuilding and replacing legacy applications used for critical law enforcement, border security, and mission operations.

As part of a cross-functional Agile team, the UI Front-End Developer will support the design and development of single-page applications (SPAs) within a microservices architecture. This is a cloud-native program that emphasizes modular, scalable design and continuous delivery, with a strong focus on performance, security, and usability.

About the Project:

The team is delivering a next-generation platform for CBP to better manage operational workflows, data visualization, and decision-making tools across border and homeland security functions. Applications are being re-architected using Spring Boot microservices and modern front-end frameworks to improve speed, maintainability, and user experience.

Role Responsibilities: Develop responsive, dynamic SPAs using frameworks like React or Angular Build reusable UI components and libraries that meet security and accessibility standards Collaborate closely with backend developers, DevOps engineers, and product owners in a fast-paced Agile environment Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, and peer code reviews Deploy applications in a secure cloud environment using CI/CD pipelines Ensure compliance with 508 accessibility and performance standards Required Skills:

Strong proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 Experience with frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue Familiarity with Spring Boot and building applications within a microservices environment Solid understanding of REST APIs and integration techniques Experience in Agile development with tools like JIRA, Git, Jenkins Cloud exposure (AWS or Azure preferred) Preferred:

Active or prior security clearance (Public Trust, Secret, or higher) Experience on federal or DHS/CBP programs Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes and containerized deployments Understanding of Section 508 compliance and secure coding practices
