Overview

Seasonal Event Technician, Audio Visual – Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace. This role involves the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, with the goal of ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

This seasonal position will have a start date of September 2025 and end date of May 2026. Seasonal full-time positions offer benefits, overtime, training, and promotional opportunities. At the end of the season (May 2026), you may be invited to reapply based on business levels and performance.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
• Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel/client relationship.
• Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge: Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with staff and outside vendors; utilize floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• 1 year of audio visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Hotel environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand and/or dust. Work may vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Exposure to high-end AV equipment and electrical components; may involve heights via lifts and ladders. May work at multiple hotel locations; irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore per hotel or area.

Physical Requirements

The role requires meeting specific physical criteria; the following are examples by frequency:

• Occasionally: peripheral vision; carrying 51-100 lbs; pushing/pulling over 100 lbs.
• Frequently: color vision; depth perception; lifting 16-50 lbs; carrying 16-50 lbs; pushing/pulling 16-50 lbs and 51-100 lbs.
• Continuously: close vision; distance vision; hearing; lifting 0-15 lbs; carrying 0-15 lbs; pushing/pulling 0-15 lbs.

Time Allocation

0-1 hours/day: climbing; 2-3 hours/day: sitting, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching; 4-5 hours/day: standing, walking, grasping.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $15.10 - $18.48. Compensation is determined based on location, travel, experience and skills. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
