Speech Communication and Rhetoric Instructor

The Program in Speech Communication and Rhetoric, a division of the Department of English at the University of South Carolina, invites applications for an Instructor to teach at the undergraduate level. The 4/4 teaching load may include courses in public speaking, business communication, and/or oral argument and debate. Candidates with a Ph.D. may be eligible to teach in the university’s award-winning Honor’s College.
Candidates must have completed an M.A. in Communication Studies or a closely related field (by August 1, 2023) and have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching speech communication courses at the college level, with evidence of effectiveness and innovation. We prefer candidates with a Ph.D. in Communication with experience teaching courses in rhetoric.
