The Role

This role is responsible for assisting in all operational duties of the Community Manager, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and overseeing the community and associates in the Community Manager’s absence. The incumbent must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for residents and the workforce.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
  • LIHTC/Tax Credit Program Knowledge required.
  • Excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service.
  • Solid bookkeeping and rent collection experience.
  • Thorough understanding of landlord/tenant law and Fair Housing Laws.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tact, maturity, and flexibility.
  • Resourceful and organized; solid computer knowledge (Windows, Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail).
  • Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Key Accountabilities

  • Resident relations and customer service, maintaining a high level of resident satisfaction.
  • Respond to complaints and requests in a timely manner and resolve service issues.
  • Function as a resource center for residents on community living and rent payment matters.
  • Organize resident appreciation and retention events and maintain confidential resident files.
  • Assist with leasing duties, including tours of prospective residents.
  • Fiduciary responsibilities: manage property income, including rent and security deposits; review resident files for delinquencies and enforce lease terms.
  • Assist with Monthly Projection Reporting, vacancy inspections, make-ready apartments, and property compliance with policies and repairs as needed.
  • Meet regularly with Community Manager and Regional Manager to discuss performance; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Staff leadership: oversee operations and staff in Community Manager’s absence; support Leasing Consultants; maintain fair housing compliance.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and applicable laws (Fair Housing, ADA) and assist with eviction procedures as required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Essential staff required to report to work; follow safety and business protocols.
  • Frequent sitting and walking; repetitive computer use; reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • May work on uneven surfaces; occasional squatting, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
