About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Content & Acquisitions for its global distribution division. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring third-party programming across a variety of genres, with a primary focus on the US market. This senior role demands a professional with over 15 years of experience in content acquisitions, sales, co-productions, or content strategy, and a strong network of senior-level contacts in the industry. The VP will be tasked with executing the content acquisition strategy, aligning with the company's brand and commercial objectives, and managing relationships with external partners. Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, including legal, finance, operations, and sales, is essential to ensure the seamless delivery of content and to support the global sales force in maximizing monetization opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of rights management, content monetization models, and the ability to negotiate and close complex acquisition deals. They should be proactive, with excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. A strong alignment with the company's creative values and brand voice is a must, as is the ability to represent the company at a global level. While not a dealbreaker, an MBA is a nice-to-have qualification. The role requires a passionate individual who is willing to travel internationally and work overtime as needed, and who is committed to the company's mission of creating and delivering content that resonates with audiences worldwide.
