Nature of Work

Responsible for assisting in the creation of content and providing public information through all of the city's digital channels. Assists the Digital Media Manager along with the Director and Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications in all aspects to develop and communicate information to stakeholders. Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties

Develops and curates information to disseminate across the city's various social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and Nextdoor Executes a results-driven social media strategy, but remains flexible with evolving priorities Attends citywide events to create content and post in real time, this includes evenings and/or weekends Serves as an integral part of the city's crisis communications team Assists in writing a bi-weekly e-newsletter and sending dedicated emails to residents regarding projects, events or alerts Works alongside the graphics and video production teams to create digital specific assets for various citywide campaigns Works with Marketing Manager and Digital Media Manager to assist in the implementation and reporting of paid social media ads Reviews analytics and creates reports on KPls Works closely with the Digital Media Manager, along with the Miami Beach Police and Fire Departments during high impact periods, such as spring break, Memorial Day weekend and hurricane season Proactively monitors social media coverage/conversations and reports back on trends, issues and/or areas of opportunity Interacts with users throughout social accounts by responding to messages, inquiries and comments. Assists the Digital Media Manager and IT team with content on the city's homepage, news and events sections and reviews digital content from various departments Assists the Digital Media Manager and video team with scripts and production for public service announcements and/or video campaigns Issues MB Traffic and Emergency Alerts on an as needed basis Supports city departments with proofing and editing collateral, making sure overall branding is consistent Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred Three (3) years of experience Speaking and writing Spanish fluently is preferred Must submit writing samples and portfolio of previous social content created Physical Requirements:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone, electronic mail and personal contact Physical capability to effectively use and operate various office related equipment, such as computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, printer, and scanner No significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and handling For all positions:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, the press the general public and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation. Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of all city ethics and conflicts of interest policies. Strong understanding of ethical behavior is required. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. Performs related work as required. Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential employee of the City of Miami Beach.

For all technical, professional, supervisory and managerial positions:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to issues consistent with the City's strategic plan.
