Community Alliance has an exciting full-time opportunity for an individual who enjoys writing, researching and has strong organizational skills. Our Grant Writer and Event Planner position works in collaboration with administrative and program staff and is responsible for identifying and preparing grant applications and reports that support agency goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria as well as assisting with the planning, managing and executing of event strategies and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Research new funding opportunities on a local, state and federal level.
  • Draft proposals, grant application narratives and budgets and collaborate to finalize with senior administrative, finance and program staff.
  • Submit grant applications via paper or online portals
  • Manage system for grant compliance and reporting including:

Track and maintain funder reporting schedules and requirements

Draft progress reports and targeted program updates to funders that highlight programmatic success and emphasize the impact their giving has on those we serve.

Organize and maintain master calendar of existing grants and prospective grants and all associated files and correspondence.

Assist administrative team in maintaining quality communication with current and prospective funders.

  • Plan and coordinate agency events ensuring they align with organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute event strategies to attract and engage participants.
  • Manage logistics for agency’s attendance at external events/tabling, including scheduling and staff participation.
  • Collaborate with internal team to ensure smooth accomplishment of events and conduct post-event feedback meetings to evaluate success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, fundraising or other relevant field.
  • Three or more years’ experience in grant writing, grants management and event planning with proven success in securing grant funding of $25,000 and more.
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical and persuasive writing and editing skills including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience and communicate why supporting Community Alliance is vital to our community.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision; ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and donor databases.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
