Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary yet execution-driven Head of Brand & Marketing to lead integrated strategies across all channels. This leader must be equal parts strategist and builder: able to craft breakthrough storytelling while rolling up their sleeves to deliver campaigns, content, activations, and retail programs that drive measurable growth. The ideal candidate is creative, scrappy, and deeply passionate about impact and clean beauty. They thrive at the intersection of brand building and performance—bringing together consumer empathy, bold ideas, and commercial acumen to scale two purpose-driven brands. Key Responsibilities
Brand Leadership & Strategy Define and evolve brand positioning, narrative, and visual identity to strengthen differentiation in the clean beauty landscape. Lead long-term brand strategy that aligns with company growth objectives and consumer insights. Champion the mission—ensuring purpose and impact storytelling are woven authentically into every touchpoint. Build and execute integrated marketing plans across retail, DTC, social, influencer, and PR channels. Lead campaign development from concept to execution, balancing creativity with ROI. Oversee shopper marketing and trade programs to drive velocity and visibility at retail partners. Own media strategy—including performance marketing, paid social, and PR—to grow brand awareness and loyalty. Develop and lead the content strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels. Ensure consistent, compelling storytelling that connects the mission with consumer needs. Oversee creation of content assets (social, email, blog, video, digital, retail) that drive engagement, education, and conversion. Manage editorial calendar and content distribution to ensure alignment with brand campaigns, launches, and seasonal priorities. Partner with Growth & Product team to support the innovation pipeline with consumer and market insights. Analyze competitive trends, consumer research, and retail data to inform new product concepts and claims. Ensure innovations align with brand values, consumer demand, and long-term growth strategy. Creative Development Lead creative development of brand identity and architecture. Oversee packaging design and evolution across all product lines. Develop and produce compelling brand assets (digital, retail, experiential, and social) that cut through clutter and drive engagement. Maintain consistency and excellence across all brand touchpoints. Community & Engagement Build and scale an engaged brand community that goes beyond transactions. Develop and manage influencer and creator networks to amplify authentic storytelling. Launch and oversee brand ambassador programs to deepen grassroots advocacy. Drive awareness, loyalty, and repeat purchase rates well above category benchmarks. Champion two-way engagement with consumers across social media, events, and digital platforms. Event Activations (Trade & Consumer) Plan and oversee execution of high-impact event activations, including trade shows, retailer events, and consumer-facing experiences. Partner with Sales and field marketing teams to maximize visibility and impact at key industry events. Create unique, memorable consumer activations that embody brand purpose and deepen community engagement. Manage event budgets, logistics, and post-event performance analysis. DTC & Social Commerce Own growth of DTC and social commerce channels, including seasonal promotional and merchandising plans. Oversee development of conversion-optimized digital assets (PDPs, paid media, landing pages, email). Drive social commerce innovation through platform-specific strategies and partnerships with creators. Performance Marketing & Budget Optimization Manage paid media budgets across digital channels including paid social, search, affiliate, and programmatic. Implement scrappy, test-and-learn A/B testing to improve customer acquisition efficiency. Track ROI and partner with Finance to prioritize spend against growth and margin goals. Go-to-Market Leadership & Collaboration Support go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Sales, Product, and Operations. Partner with Sales to align retail calendars with brand campaigns for amplification. Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing team and agency ecosystem. Partner cross-functionally to ensure brand consistency and alignment with launches, innovation, and distribution growth. Serve as the voice of the consumer across the organization. Qualifications 12+ years of progressive brand/marketing leadership experience in CPG, beauty, wellness, or natural products. Proven track record of building brands and leading omni-channel campaigns that drive growth. Demonstrated ability to grow DTC and digital retail channels, with hands-on experience in social commerce. Strong expertise in content strategy, consumer insights, product innovation, creative direction, and retail marketing. Experience planning and executing event activations across trade and consumer channels. Experience building influencer, creator, or ambassador programs and scaling community engagement. Creative disruptor with proven ability to cut through clutter with bold, modern ideas. Exceptional storyteller with a sharp creative sensibility and data-driven mindset.
