Job Summary
The Communications and Marketing Officer at Georgia Southern University is responsible for strategic communication and marketing efforts to audiences including current students, prospective students, faculty, alumni and key community members. This position will work with select academic colleges at Georgia Southern University and with the University's communications and marketing office to integrate college efforts with the University's communications and marketing strategy.
The Communications and Marketing Officer will be an integral member of the University's communications team. They will create compelling content to effectively tell the Georgia Southern story in engaging and broad-reaching ways, raising visibility and reputation as a college. The incumbent demonstrates a steadfast commitment to embodying core values of service, collaboration, and excellence.
Responsibilities Share important academic successes, research, student highlights and news for inclusion in University-level promotions and channels In conjunction with University-level efforts, assist with campaigns across various media platforms, including digital, print, web, video, mass media and college social media Support efforts to increase student enrollment and engagement for the colleges and degree program Coordinate marketing and communications projects for specific colleges and work with University-level marketing and communications on initiatives and execution Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communication Arts or related degree Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency working with major social media channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube Demonstrated proficiency working with social media monitoring and analytics tactics, tools and data Demonstrated creativity, invention, imagination, originality, and talent in branding, digital marketing, message development, and strategic marketing Required Experience
Two years experience in related field Must possess an understanding of marketing and communications mediums with the ability to plan, manage, produce and direct comprehensive strategies that incorporate print, digital and video communication to support brand messaging Must have experience executing multi-faceted communications campaigns to internal and external audiences Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in education or a related field Proposed Salary
$22.36 - $27.95 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
