Prendio-BioProcure is the leading, purpose-built eProcurement and payments platform for biotech, partnering with early-stage and scaling life-science companies to find savings and extend cash runway so scientists can focus on bringing life-changing therapies to market. Supporting hundreds of labs and billions in annual spend, our unified platform combines intuitive workflows, deep integrations, and biotech-specific expertise, and scales from new lab formation through clinical development, embedding payments, CRO, and services discovery, and data-driven insights to make procurement faster, easier, and more cost-effective.
We are seeking a Director of Product Design to establish and lead our design discipline at Prendio. You’ll serve as both a hands-on designer and a strategic leader, creating the foundation for a design organization that can scale with the company.
This is a rare opportunity to build a design function from the ground up in a high-growth, domain-specific SaaS platform.
Discovery & Research: Lead generative and evaluative research with scientists, lab operations, finance teams, and other stakeholders to uncover unmet needs.
Design Execution: Design Strategy: Define the design vision and principles that guide Prendio’s user experience across procurement, payments, CRO marketplace, and analytics.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Client Success to ensure user-centered design is embedded across the product lifecycle.
Foundation Building: Establish core design processes, tools, and systems (design system, component libraries, design ops) that enable scale.
Serve as the first design leader with the mandate to build and grow the team over time, mentoring junior designers as they are added.
Voice of the User: Champion scientists, finance leads, and operations managers inside the company, ensuring their workflows and pain points shape product outcomes.
Experience: 10+ years in product design, with a portfolio spanning SaaS products, enterprise workflows, and user-facing experiences.
Hands-on designer who can also define design strategy and shape an organization.
Systems Thinking: Strong grasp of design systems and how to embed them in product development.
