Join to apply for the Adjunct Pool - Music Department role at Inside Higher Ed The Basic Function of the Adjunct Faculty Member is to provide academic instruction to students for the assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair or Program Director. Position Category: Adjunct FLSA: Exempt Location: Thousand Oaks Representative Duties Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills Evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes Select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, software, and tools in collaboration with discipline faculty Knowledge Of Current theory and practice within the subject discipline Principles and best practices of effective teaching Ability To Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field or discipline Deliver course curricula in various learning styles Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process Minimum Qualifications : Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition.
