Overview
Audio Visual Facility Technician (Part-Time) in the Staff Pool at Houston Community College. You will set up and run audio/visual productions for the Art Gallery, conference and seminar rooms, and the training center. You will assist the Campus Manager with events, maintain schedules, and support the physical setup, breakdown, and general maintenance for events. You will assess the needs of internal and external customers and prepare AV setups in conjunction with Conference Services staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up audio/visual equipment for meetings, conferences and scheduled events
- Actively monitor events and oversee quality control of AV equipment
- Assess needs of internal and external customers and prepare proper technical AV setups for all college facilities
- Maintain the calendar schedule, manage general aspects of AV equipment, and follow safety procedures during events
- Serve as back-up for events booked on campus and operate all equipment as needed
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and general maintenance for all events
- Work with Event Management System software to ensure efficient setup for events
- Ensure all service items and equipment are maintained
- Provide daily facility maintenance
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED; AV-related certificate or degree preferred
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in event operations or conference center operations with AV setup
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet technologies; proven ability to use event management system software; strong work ethic; ability to lift 50 pounds
