Creative Strategist

Location: New York (hybrid)

Department: Creative Solutions

Reporting to: Global Head, Creative Solutions

Overview

Time Out is seeking a Creative Strategist to join our Creative Solutions team in New York. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in integrated marketing, insights-driven strategy, and creative storytelling who can translate data into compelling ideas and bring them to life across digital, social, video, and experiential platforms.

As a Creative Strategist, you’ll develop and execute bespoke advertising campaigns that connect brands with Time Out’s culturally engaged audience. You’ll be at the center of the process: leading brainstorms, building proposals, responding to RFPs, and ensuring seamless execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

We’re looking for someone who is both a big thinker and a doer: comfortable diving into data (GWI and other research tools) to find actionable insights, skilled in crafting beautiful and effective client proposals, and always tuned in to cultural, consumer, and media trends.

This is a unique opportunity to shape integrated brand partnerships for an iconic global brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of strategic, insight-driven proposals and RFP responses that inspire clients and win business.
  • Translate audience data, trends, and brand KPIs into effective content and media strategies across Time Out’s multi-platform ecosystem (digital, social, video, experiential, and Time Out Market).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Editorial, Account Management and Ad Ops, to ensure ideas are both creatively bold and operationally sound.
  • Guide and inspire internal brainstorms, contributing to a culture of innovation and cross-team collaboration.
  • Support campaign delivery and post-sale reporting, ensuring learnings are shared internally and with clients.
  • Proactively develop and pitch new programs, tentpoles, and cultural opportunities for client partnerships.
  • Maintain and evolve Time Out’s influencer and talent network, building authentic connections to amplify branded campaigns.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in media, marketing, or creative strategy, ideally at a publisher, agency, or brand.
  • Proficiency with data and insights platforms (GWI, MRI, etc.), with the ability to turn research into compelling narratives.
  • Strong design and presentation skills, with expertise in Canva (Keynote and InDesign knowledge a plus).
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with proven ability to craft persuasive client-facing materials.
  • Strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines at once.
  • Passion for food, travel, culture, and entertainment—and curiosity for what’s next.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
