Job Overview:

The Technical Mechanical Designer is responsible for working with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Engineering Manager to manage project data, engineering design data, solid models, drafted documentation, as well as parts lists, bill of materials, and other component related information critical to the success of the project. The designer will perform a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Design products from initial concept through production in a professional and time efficient manner meeting Code and customer design requirements, including deadlines Liaise with Design Manager, Project Managers, and Engineers to assist in interpreting project requirements Work in tandem with the process engineer to provide a complete mechanical design for vessels and piping systems, which can then be modeled and drafted Review and create Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for upstream, mid-stream and downstream facilities. Perform component selection such as instrumentation, controls, measurement, and valves for piping and vessel system based off the P&ID and customer specification sheets, identifying long lead items. Work with the Supply Chain team for specification and procurement of long lead time items. Assist Supply Chain with approving alternates for instrumentation, control valves and measurement devices which have long lead times. Conduct Material Take Off (MTOs) from customer supplied or internally created models and drawings Produce SolidWorks 3D Models and Detail Drawings in accordance with design and specification requirements Create General Arrangement (GA) and shop level fabrication drawings from information provided by Engineering, Project Management, and/or Sales, following company standards and customer specifications Perform engineering check and drafting check of drawings; update and revise drawings Participate in design reviews, where required Continuously monitor the design/drafting progress and report to Project Manager Organize approval process of documents as required between departments Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) Be responsible for making quick and accurate quality checks on deliverables being released to customers or manufacturing Create Dimensional surveys and preparing 'As Built' Drawings Assist in the development of company design systems, standards, and procedures Contribute development ideas for new and existing products Support work for proposals and projects working to tight deadlines Provide estimating support for RFQ (create instrument and valve list, gather ERP pricing); work closely with Project Management and Sales to ensure the technical aspects of the estimate are accurate. Required Skills or Tools:

Required: Proficient with SolidWorks® design software or equivalent Working knowledge of COMPRESS® pressure vessel calculation software Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to effectively apply Industry Codes and Standards; ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, ASME B31.3, AWS, API, ASTM, NACE, OSHA, etc.) Knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges, fittings, valves and instruments used in oilfield production equipment High attention to detail and pride in work output Able to Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings (Process Flow Diagrams, General Arrangement, P&ID, Pressure Vessel, Piping, etc.) Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: ability to define/understand the problem, identify constraints, and work towards the best possible solution Ability to design cost effective fabrication Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work outside in manufacturing, field processing, and production site atmospheres. Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical or Petroleum discipline and 5 years' experience with design of pressurized equipment

Technical degree with minimum 10 years' experience with design of pressurized equipment Work Location:
