In the role of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) Designer, we'll count on you to:
Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art ICT systems, techniques, procedures, design and modifications
Design and specify ICT systems including but not limited to fiber optic backbones, horizontal cabling, bonding and cabling pathways
Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design
Define and develop complete project related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system related activities within construction administration (CA)
Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project related requirements
Edit telecommunications or security specifications specifically to the project
Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies
Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed
Take responsibility for the complete set of construction documents
Independently perform ICT communications assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected
Select and recommend procedures, communication devices and equipment; write specifications covering all communications system matters; perform reviews and work directly with owners as part of the project team
Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the ICT design process
Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) or OSP (Outside Plant) is preferred
Engineering Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Can-Do and problem-solving mindset
Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus; must be able to learn new applications quickly
Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices
Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum 5 years experience in low-voltage system design
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
