Overview

Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN) is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Information Technology & Broadcast to oversee the availability, operational stability, efficiency, and security of AJMN’s corporate and broadcast infrastructure in Washington, DC, and throughout the Americas.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Broadcast Infrastructure, LAN network, IT systems, and corporate services to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead the department to meet or exceed key performance targets.
• Drive process optimization initiatives across the organization in Washington, DC.
• Maintain and implement industry best practices for Technology Operations.
• Leverage emerging technology trends in Broadcast, Digital Products, Networking, Enterprise Systems, Information Security, Service Desk, and Cloud to enhance workplace efficiency and innovation.
• Uphold and enforce adherence to established processes and documentation standards, and meet business demands in a timely and professional manner in accordance with OLAs and SLAs. This includes leading, mentoring, evaluating, and developing technology teams.
• Establish relationships with technology partners, including suppliers, vendors, service providers, headquarter teams and regional hubs.
• Ensure AJMN’s LANs, Systems, Broadcast Systems, Corporate Applications and Datacenter meet world-class standards and are maintained for efficiency.
• Ensure IT Operations and Broadcast Operations run well-defined Service Management processes.
• Manage the operations of infrastructure platforms, including servers, storage, databases, middleware, networks, applications, and end-user support.
• Adopt effective policies, procedures, tools, techniques and plans related to systems service level management.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, IT, security and architecture policies and standards.

Education

• Bachelor or higher in IT, Broadcast or equivalent field
• Industry certifications such as: Project Management (PMP), IT Service Management (ITIL 4), Information Security (CISSP or equivalent), Lean Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, COBIT/OneTrust Privacy (preferred)

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within the TV ecosystem, with a focus on scalable, mission-critical media solutions.
• Deep understanding of technology trends across the Broadcast industry and related fields.
• Ability to drive continuous improvements by integrating new technologies and best practices.
• Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Arabic are strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 12 years in a relevant domain
• Minimum 10 years in a News/Sports/Entertainment channel with similar systems
• At least 6 years in a team lead role
