The Professor of Commercial Graphics Communications is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and leadership within the Commercial Graphics program. This position involves teaching, curriculum development, student mentoring, and active participation in departmental and institutional initiatives. The professor maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by effectively communicating and engaging with students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and ensuring that course content aligns with current industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, prepares, and delivers course materials for both lecture and lab instruction in alignment with program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains accurate student records, evaluates student progress, and submits grades, reports, and related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes learning management systems and other instructional technologies to communicate with students, faculty, and staff effectively.
  • Participates in the assessment and documentation of student learning outcomes and contributes to continuous program improvement.
  • Collaborates with the Commercial Graphics Communications Coordinator to ensure the timely procurement and maintenance of instructional supplies and equipment necessary for lab operations.
  • Engages in curriculum review and development to reflect advancements in commercial graphics technology and industry trends.
  • Provides academic and career advising to students and supports their professional development.
  • Remains current in the commercial graphics field through professional development, industry engagement, and ongoing education.
  • Contributes to departmental meetings, committees, and college initiatives that support student success and program growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Commercial Graphics Communications or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related graphic production experience.
  • Bachelor's in applied Graphic Communications with a minimum of five (5) years related graphic production experience.

Location: Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.
