About The Higher Education Team

The Higher Education team sits within Orchestra’s Tech & Corporate practice and guides colleges, universities and academic institutions through today’s communications landscape. About This Role

We are seeking an Account Executive to join our team. You will lead daily client relations, plan and execute day-to-day project deliverables, support and lead junior staff and conceptualize strategies, pitches and media placements. This role manages day-to-day work, anticipates client needs and determines the optimal team approach. You will work closely with client leads and internal staff, delegating to peers and junior staff and developing strategy with senior leaders.

Role location: This role is based in New York, NY or Washington, DC on a hybrid basis. The Tech and Corporate team is in-office 3 days per week.

Accountabilities And Qualifications

As an Account Executive on the Higher Education team you will:

  • Support the creation of strategy by providing regular creative ideas for clients across owned, paid and earned media channels.
  • Drive day-to-day client deliverables, manage up and down to ensure team alignment, and surface new ideas/opportunities for clients.
  • Manage media monitoring and rapid response across accounts.
  • Write and edit external and internal documents including strategy decks, messaging, op-eds, social and web copy.
  • Oversee day-to-day communications with clients, staff weekly calls, analyze press coverage and write progress reports.
  • Manage work streams across multiple accounts.

Essential Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in communications (in-house for companies, nonprofits or higher education institutions, media or journalism); PR agency experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the higher education landscape and ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated relationships with reporters and strong news sense.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication with staff, clients and media.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a team to meet objectives.
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft software suites.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000. BerlinRosen offers a competitive compensation philosophy and regularly reviews and adjusts salaries for equity across teams and levels.
