Senior User Interface Designer – Chenega MIOS SBU
Falls Church, VA
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior User Interface Designer to lead the design and implementation of modern, user-friendly, and standardized interfaces across our suite of mobile applications and websites. This multifaceted role includes establishing and maintaining a cohesive design system that enhances usability, accessibility, and visual consistency across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces for mobile and web applications.
- Collaboratively grow, mature, and maintain the centralized UI design system and component library to ensure consistency across all products.
- Collaborate with UX designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate user needs and business requirements into elegant design solutions.
- Define and enforce UI standards, best practices, and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG AA, Section 508).
- Conduct design reviews and provide guidance to ensure adherence to established UI principles.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the user-facing designs.
- Create mockups and high-fidelity visual designs using tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Advocate for user-centered design and contribute to a culture of design excellence.
- Become an active member of the organization’s UI/UX Community of Practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Web Design.
- 5+ years of experience in UI design for mobile and web applications.
- Strong portfolio showcasing modern, responsive, and accessible UI designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and related Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Experience designing Mobile and Progressive Web Applications.
- Background check with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to iterate designs quickly and effectively.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles.
- Experience creating and managing design systems and style guides.
- Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team; manage multiple efforts in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable training end users on technical issues.
