About 10a Labs: 10a Labs is an applied research and AI security company trusted by AI unicorns, Fortune 10 companies, and U.S. tech leaders. We combine proprietary technology, deep expertise, and multilingual threat intelligence to detect abuse at scale. We also deliver state-of-the-art red teaming across high-impact security and safety challenges.

About the role: 10a Labs is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to document a suite of developer products and tools. This is a short-term contract position. You'll create clear, practical resources that help developers and partner organizations integrate and build with large-language-models (LLM) and vector database-based systems. This includes producing API and SDK documentation, conceptual guides for model integration, and workshop materials that translate complex technical capabilities into actionable learning experiences. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and research teams to turn emerging technical advances into clear, developer-ready materials that accelerate adoption and understanding.

In this role, you will:
  • Create and own documentation for APIs, SDKs, and developer tooling.
  • Produce workshop and tutorial materials (slide decks, labs, code walkthroughs, etc.).
  • Organize, review, and evolve documentation structure, taxonomy, and style.
  • Audit existing documentation, identify gaps, and develop improvements.
  • Validate runnable code examples and maintain accuracy.
  • Coordinate across engineering, product, and research to ensure correctness.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Enjoys diving deep into technical systems and making them understandable to others.
  • Brings a developer's perspective and is able to simplify without oversimplifying.
  • Communicates well cross-functionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Is collaborative, detailed-oriented, and thrives in fast-moving, high-impact environments.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience or similar with a strong portfolio of API, SDK, and developer documentation.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex systems for both application developers and platform engineers.
  • Experience with docs-as-code workflows (Git/GitHub, Markdown/MDX, static site generators).
  • Coding proficiency in at least one language (Python, TypeScript, or similar) and ability to verify runnable examples.
  • Solid grasp of modern software development practices including version control, testing, dependency management, and CI/CD.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a bias toward clarity and accuracy.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with AI/ML tools, prompt engineering, LLM concepts, API specs (OpenAPI/Swagger), or open-source documentation contributions.
