Position Summary

This is a part-time position for a reliable student providing customer service at the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) public service desk. Shifts include daytime (8am-5pm) Monday-Friday hours and Saturday (12-5pm).

Duties include:

• Assisting students, faculty, staff and community members with resource access, reference and general and directional questions in person, over the phone and on live chat.
• Checking library materials in/out
• Assisting in opening and closing the library
• Helping users with printing and computers
• Shelving returned items and shelf-reading the collection
• Assisting users with 3D printing, virtual reality, and the Anatomage anatomy table
• Participating in projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Work study award
• Reliable; committed to be on time and to fulfilling scheduled shifts and tasks. Well-developed time management skills
• Working knowledge of a technology, including troubleshooting of computers, printers, and scanners
• Able to work the specific days and times needed to be staffed (able to fill gaps in desk coverage)
• Customer service experience
• Familiarity with a library and some experience working in a library
• Ability to perform on a team, communicate and support work colleagues
