Position Summary
This is a part-time position for a reliable student providing customer service at the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) public service desk. Shifts include daytime (8am-5pm) Monday-Friday hours and Saturday (12-5pm).
Duties include:
- Assisting students, faculty, staff and community members with resource access, reference and general and directional questions in person, over the phone and on live chat.
- Checking library materials in/out
- Assisting in opening and closing the library
- Helping users with printing and computers
- Shelving returned items and shelf-reading the collection
- Assisting users with 3D printing, virtual reality, and the Anatomage anatomy table
- Participating in projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Work study award
- Reliable; committed to be on time and to fulfilling scheduled shifts and tasks. Well-developed time management skills
- Working knowledge of a technology, including troubleshooting of computers, printers, and scanners
- Able to work the specific days and times needed to be staffed (able to fill gaps in desk coverage)
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with a library and some experience working in a library
- Ability to perform on a team, communicate and support work colleagues
