Overview

The Sales & Service Representative is responsible to promote all banking products and services of the Bank in accordance with the Sales Culture, best practices following the operational policies and procedures. Accountable for adhering to the Bank’s BSA, AML and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) applicable policies. Employees must follow specific unit procedures developed in compliance with the policies. Employees are also responsible for reporting any suspicious activity and/or transactions in accordance with the Bank’s processes and comply with any mandatory BSA, AML and OFAC training assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes, refers and sells bank products and services to potential and existing customers, meeting business goals and objectives.
  • Identifies and prospects potential customers within the market pace and bank, through internal cross-sell activities or marketplace visits and activities.
  • Establishes and develops products and service relationships with customers addressing their financial needs.
  • Identifies new relationships opportunities, develops internal or external activities in conjunction with the Branch Sales Assistant Manager and participates in internal and external sales activities to achieve goals.
  • Contributes to the Branch growth by applying the Sales Culture and OSS Program, achieving goals, working plans and following administrative procedures.
  • Complies with the branch Sales Culture, goals, working plans and administrative procedures.
  • Complies with all related laws and regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Lending, Truth in Savings, US Patriot Act and Community Reinvestment Act, among others.
  • Complies with all operational activities and procedures related to scope of responsibility, including inquiring potential customers and gathering accurate information.
  • Provides service to customers and orients to promote products and services; manages inquiries and provides solutions to support retention.
  • Performs service transactions and other inquiries within Bank service and operational standards and objectives.
  • Maintains files and keeps up-to-date filing for new and canceled accounts.
  • Completes files for new accounts following the operational procedures established for each product, within the required timeframe.
  • Supports the Branch Sales Assistant Manager/Branch Operations Assistant Manager with administrative tasks, as requested.
  • Performs greeter duties when needed.
  • Assists branch and Retail & Business Banking in special projects and assignments.

Qualifications

  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in customer orientation and knowledge of banking products and services.
  • A minimum of 24 credits toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, or coursework related to banking, is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, is preferred.
  • Candidates with a combination of practical experience, relevant training, and academic preparation may also qualify if they demonstrate the required skills and competencies.
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations such as Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Computer literate in the use of MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fully bilingual, preferable.
  • Sales, customer service and presentation skills are a must.
  • Available to work holiday days, weekends, and a flexible schedule.
