About the Role: As a Designer at Garcia Construction you will be the creative and technical lead on a variety of residential and light commercial projects. You’ll work closely with clients to bring their visions to life, from the first napkin sketch through the final construction detail. This role requires a strong background in residential design, advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software, and excellent communication skills. If you think you may be our unicorn, please apply today. Job Duties: Collaborate directly with clients to design kitchens, bathrooms, home additions, and light remodels Collaborate directly with commercial and internal clients to design retail and restaurant tenant buildouts Create detailed CAD drawings including layouts, elevations Create detailed CAD drawings for garages, decks, and carports Create submittal and specification sheets for projects Work closely with our in-house architect to review and revise drawings as needed Coordinate with the construction team to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the build process Project coordination and scheduling Specify and order all finish materials including windows, doors, cabinetry, fixtures, and finishes Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field 4+ years of relevant experience Familiarity with permitting processes and building codes Familiarity with federal, state, and local historic preservation requirements Experience with project management software Involvement in exciting and diverse residential projects
