Mission and Goals

As a Senior Media Buyer (SEM), you will play a critical role on the media team by owning strategy, execution, and growth of major lines of business within the Search Engine Marketing channel. Reporting directly to the SEM Channel Manager, you will drive measurable results through hands-on campaign management while also collaborating to set the strategic vision for SEM. This role blends high-level strategic thinking with deep executional expertise, requiring a data-centric mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

Objectives

• Own end-to-end strategy and performance for SEM delivery against growth and efficiency goals for multiple lines of business.

• Dedicate the majority of your time to hands-on SEM execution, campaign scaling, and optimization.

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert and escalation point for SEM, guiding best practices across the media team.

• Partner with cross-functional teams-including analytics, product, and data science-to align business priorities and maximize impact.

Competencies

• 5-8 years of experience in SEM or paid media, ideally within the digital media or personal finance industry.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and make data-informed decisions.

• Proficiency with tools such as Google Ads and Tableau is required.

• Strategic thinker with a proven ability to design and execute long-term channel growth strategies.

• Technical expertise in SEM best practices, including keyword research, ad copywriting, bid strategies, and A/B testing. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.

• Strong communication and influence skills to act as a senior leader on the media team without direct people management
