Your Role

As a Mid-Level Gensler Designer, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills to produce purposeful, functional, and beautiful spaces for our clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture with a focus on Interiors or Interior Design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment. You should have a strong reputation in the design community.

What You Will Do

  • Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
  • Work with independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and modifying standard techniques and procedures
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Generate design with 3D models, Revit, SketchUp or other software; create digital 3D views to communicate design concepts
  • Produce interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections for construction
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
  • Collaborate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
  • Guide and mentor junior designers
  • Collaborate with other design and professional staff
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture
  • 6+ years of design leadership of interior design and/or architecture projects; recent workplace, education and/or healthcare project experience is required
  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred
  • Experience delivering highly sustainable design solutions
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Revit and other computer design programs
  • Must have a portfolio of workplace interior projects showing a range of projects
  • The base salary will be estimated between $95,000 – $115,000 plus bonuses and benefits and is contingent on relevant experience
