The role of the Lead Motion Designer is an incredible opportunity to work with Directive’s award-winning Creative team. You will produce content for various client projects within our Design department. This position emphasizes creating motion graphics in After Effects, adhering to brand guidelines, and delivering visually engaging animations that align with target audiences and objectives. You will also engage with clients with strategic ideas and consultative feedback. Responsibilities Assist in designing and creating storyboards, mood boards, and design frames Research and analyze design techniques to create motion graphics Create engaging animations that connect with the target audience and achieve objectives Manage the full lifecycle of short-form video creation for internal and external projects Produce content and assets for multiple media (social, mobile, web, emerging platforms) Take initiative on projects to deliver innovative solutions Adhere to brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand brand, audience, and message for strategic, high-performing video products Create original designs that communicate intended messages in a visually cohesive way Coordinate production requirements, potentially including VO and music, and provide final approvals What You Offer A robust portfolio of completed motion graphic projects Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Suite and other industry-leading motion graphics software (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Blender, Animate, etc.) Curiosity for new technologies and platforms to create motion content, including emerging generative AI Strong visual and conceptual problem-solving skills Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Analytical ability to align designs with multi-channel strategy Ability to own a project and collaborate as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, or related field is highly preferred (not a deal-breaker) Bonus Points: strong character animation, proficiency in Java for After Effects, 3D motion graphics abilities What Success Looks Like Regularly meet or exceed client KPIs, high NPS from delivering quality work and strong client rapport Ability to present strategy in a way that gains client buy-in and delivers moments of delight Projects delivered on time and within scope Goals Average Watch Length of Video Content: 25%+ Click-through rate: 10%+ NSM Attainment: 67% CSAT: 4+ What We Offer We have a set living wage at Directive Medical, dental, vision plans, disability, and life insurance coverage for you and your family that fit your lifestyle, including a 100% employer-paid plan for you and a 50% employer contribution for dependents Benefits To Support The Whole Person Mental: Access to certified therapists through Spring Health, Headspace membership Physical: Gympass Time Off: Unlimited PTO (2-week minimum), Paid Company Holidays, Your Birthday Off, End of Year Recharge (Closed December 24 - January 1), Paid Parental Leave Financial: Traditional and Roth 401(k) with a 3% company match Bonus: Annual bonus based on tenure, increasing over time Annual Anniversary Trip with peers and executive leadership Work Environment Requirements Remote-first company; you can work from anywhere in the US, with optional offices in Irvine, CA.
