Overview
Staff Designer, Premium Enablement at Adobe. The Premium Enablement team is at the heart of monetization within PLG Design for Adobe Express. We design experiences that help users understand, adopt, and unlock the value of premium. As a Staff Designer, you will focus on Express Premium Monetization—designing experiences that convert free users to premium, retain subscribers, and reduce churn. You’ll partner closely with product, commerce, and data teams to identify high-value actions and design paywalls, offers, and flows that maximize ARR while advocating for the user. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to adjacent workstreams in Premium Enablement as a multiplier.
What you’ll do
- Design for monetization impact – Create experiences that increase trial starts, trial-to-paid conversion, retention, and premium engagement.
- Partner with product leadership – Align design direction with business goals and help shape the roadmap for Express Premium Monetization.
- Balance business and user needs – Advocate for clarity and trust in monetization flows while delivering measurable growth outcomes.
- Simplify the complex – Translate subscription, paywall, and retention challenges into elegant, user-centered design solutions.
- Communicate and align – Use prototypes, design narratives, and frameworks to drive alignment across product, engineering, and commerce teams.
- Collaborate deeply – Work with product, commerce, engineering, and data science to deliver monetization outcomes that scale.
- Elevate team craft – Participate in critiques, share best practices, and contribute to raising the bar of design excellence within Premium Enablement.
Responsibilities – Focus Areas
- Free to Trial, Trial to Paid, Cancel Flows – Design clear, intuitive pathways that move users through the funnel.
- Retention & Engagement – Shape experiences that encourage ongoing premium use and reduce cancel rates.
- Paywalls & Offers – Design monetization touchpoints that balance user clarity with conversion.
- Premium Use Journeys – Identify high-value actions and features that drive premium adoption and engagement.
- KPI-Driven Design – Contribute design solutions that impact core KPIs including GNARR, rMAU, and 2+ Days Premium Use.
What you’ll bring to the team
Must-haves:
- Experience designing at scale, with a proven track record contributing to revenue-generating digital experiences.
- Strong communication skills—storytelling, prototyping, and design frameworks.
- Evidence of delivering world-class visual and interaction experiences across web and mobile, blending aesthetic excellence with intuitive, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
- Ability to translate business metrics into user-centered design opportunities.
- Strength in prototyping, iteration, and user-centered design process.
- Collaborative mindset, with openness to feedback and critique.
Nice-to-haves:
- Background in subscription or monetization design (e.g., paywalls, retention flows, pricing experiments).
- Experience with Product-Led Growth principles.
- Familiarity with commerce or payment flow design.
- Exposure to experimentation and KPI-driven design (A/B testing, retention metrics).
- Experience scaling design systems in growth contexts.
Preferred Accessibility Design Skills:
Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities. Understanding of applying WCAG conformance criteria in design, testing comps, wireframes, and prototypes for accessibility standards. Accessibility certifications CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from the IAAP preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $142,700 -- $265,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
